window seals

My dad has an 08 f-350 dually and I have the 05 6.0l and my dad did have an 06 6.0L. with all three of these trucks we have had problems with sand in the window seals. We try our best to keep them clean but we always have that damn grinding of sand on glass everytime we roll our windows down. I had a 99 250 and he had 3 7.3L before the new body style and they never had this problem. Anyone else had this?

Hey Stacks, I've had the same problem on my last 4 trucks (one 2003, and three 2005's) and now have the same problem on my 08. Over time it scratches the **** out of the windows. Ford should have to recall this but i've never gotten anywhere on this with dealers in my area :RTFM:

I know what your saying........
I don't let any one roll them down and have gone as far as to take the fuse out so no one can when you take it in for service.Thats the only way to keep them scratch free......
I did get them to replace molding and glass on my 03 but since then my 05 and 08 have never had the windows down.......

Also the lower seals suck and your always cleaning the inside of the doors.....

Where I live is basically super fine sand, and it just gets everywhere. Best thing I've done with it is to put Rain-X on once a month and hit the windows with a hose every once and a while. Works pretty good for me.

yea, thanks for the feed back. I'm thinking about doing a printout after I get some more people to post about this and I'm going to take it to my dealer and see what they could have done about it, maybe a recall is in order.

first Ive heard of this and I do not like the fact that the windows will get scratched up bc of it. I sure hope ford does something about it soon.
I dont live in a sandy area at all but Im supposed to be going to Fl soon after my truck is scheduled to arrive.

My 03 did eventually get scrached, it sucks but I guess it's part of where I live.
