Question Fog lights

Anyone have this happen to them? h On new years eve I got pulled over because the cop said I had to many lights on my truck...It's a F450, I told him well I don't know what to tell you thats how my truck is and he wanted me to get out and see how bright the lights are so I told him yes I knew what my lights look like and he yelled at me a little more than I just said hey just write me the ticket cause he was just being an *** so he told me it would be $150.00 and 1 point. Then after I said that he said I'll make you a deal leave your fog lights off for one month and I'll let you go...:censoredThe gay cop even called for back up to help.... Just wanted to know if this has happen to anyone else???

Hey Im a cop and unless he can prove the lights are too bright and not dot certified, there isn't anything he can do to you. Are they the stock fog lamps? I'm guessing they are not, just read the owners manual for the fog lamps and bring that to court if you should get a summons. If the owner's manual says DOT approved, You're good bro.

ok, now I've heard it all I think. A ticket for too bright of fog lights?

Life changes, so roll with it, not against it.

You're welcome! I can't believe the cop was giving you a hard time for Stock fog lamps. I think he is full of it, and maybe he was trying to pick you up or something. NOT the way I would go about it, but some of them give us a bad name. Good Luck!

Some of the fog lights on these superduties are brighter than others. I was stopped for the same reason a few months ago. At 2 in the morning I got underneath the truck and pulled the whole light assembly from one side off just to show him the DOT stamps on them. I wasn't goning to get a ticket 300 miles from where I live and have to drive all the way back just to get the case dropped.

Long story short I ended up putting even brighter bulbs, Silver Stars, in all my lights, just to piss that guy off if I ever see him again. :
