6.4l Ford fuel milage???

I'm looking at an 08' 6.4l Ford Reg. Cab, with 3.73 gears. What kind of fuel milage should I expect? Any other problems with the 6.4l?

Thanks,

Jake

Fuel Mileage

My 6.4 4X4 crewcab with 10,000 miles get 14 mph around town and 16 to 17 on the highway. I've had no problems with this truck. Towing my 7000# travel trailer, the mileage drops to 9-10 mph.

i get 14-15 around town and 16-18 on hwy. i live in the country so my city is not all stop and go since there is only 3 red light in town, so my city is a mixture of city, hwy. i am very happy with my truck and have had no problems at all.

Expect the mileage in the begining to be somewhere between 11mpg and 13mpg average. Those numbers do come up as you continue to break in the motor as with mine, I have 1700 miles on my 6.4 and my average overall is 15.4mpg. I get about 12-14 city and 17mpg highway. Good luck and I Love my truck as well.

If you're main concern is fuel mileage. Look at the job 3 trucks with the 3.55 rear gears. Heard they're getting 20+ mpg.

My 350 Dually 6-speed w/3.73's gets 14-15 city, and 17-20 highway.

I get 12-14 in city and 17 at best on the highway. With a snow plow 8-10. Overall it is a great truck, my 2 complaints are milage should be better and should allow for higher % of biodoesel use(currently allows for 5%. And complaint 2 is, have a supercab, the rear seats have no head rest (except the glass).

I am sitting at right about the same place everyone else is now. 13-14 in some stop and go/city type driving, 16-17 on the highway with about 3000 miles on the truck.
