AFE air intake

Thinking about getting an air intake that doesn't have a history of throwing codes. It seems that AFE is available for the 6.4L. Anything good or bad about them? Thanks for the help.

about half of them throw codes ! I debated heavily on what intake to buy. I went with the Airaid b/c I haven't heard on anyone having cel issues. I had it on for about 500 miles no problems, I have noticed that the truck has been learning the new amount of air flow and every day it runs better.

I had major issues with the AFE CEI. Kept throwing codes. It sits on the shelf in my garage. Good Luck and Happy New Year.

no issue here with the airaid 700miles and counting. I'm not Pro any manufacturer an intake is an intake but alot of people have issues with the afe so until more people have no problems you're just rolling the dice. I don't think the afe problem lies in the tube I think its the box design. if the maf is ultra sensitive on some truck the added fan was on the bottom side of the filter could cause miscalculations an throw a code. the airiad box is fully enclosed except the top which is close to the hood line. I'm a fan of no box just a filter for maximum air flow but the 6.4L don't like that.

My AFE caused a cel after 700mi. Dealer clear the code and re-flashed. No cel's after 3K mi. Does sound better and the truck continues to impress with age. Not sure if the credit should go to AFE.

I had the cel problem with my AFE. They sent me a new tube. But I have a high flow filter in there for now. I'm nervous about installing it again plus it's pretty cold here and I have to do it outside. My buddy had the same problem and replaced the tube. So far it's been good. He changed it about two weeks ago.
