F-450 Mileage

Hello all,
I've been on here for quite some time. This is my first thread. However, I usually get the answers to most of my questions by just searching what others have posted.

Here's my question:

I have the 08' F-450 with 430 gears. What mileage are you guys getting out there with the same set up? How about you guys out there with 4.88's? What are you getting?

I do work the truck, but I do quite a bit of driving in the truck during non-working hours. I'm not expecting beautiful numbers, but want to know if it'll get better. I now have over 17,000 miles on the truck and it still hasn't gotten any better. Will it????? I'm getting just around 10 mpg on when daily driving around town and highway.

Does ford have an additive that would help in anyway? Had the computer flashed, keep my foot out of her (I try to keep it under 2,0000 rpm). ??????????????????????????????

Thanks guys!

you might get up to around 12, but you've got a lot going against you, heavier axles, heavy truck, low gears, and the EPA's golden horde

I'm very interested in the '08 F450 fuel mileage with 430's as well. I'm thinking of getting one. I tow a 8000lb trailer on Mondays and Fridays and Tuesday thru Thursday without. All interstate driving. Will this truck be overkill for what I need...yes. But I really like everything about it. Just hoping to see something help these trucks get at least 15-17 mpg empty.

I would say 14-15 is the most you're going to see out of an F-450

Mods: AFE Intake, Line-X, 20% Tint, Clear Bra, Husky Mats, Smoked Recon Mirror markers/3rd brake light, Bushwacker Pocket style flares w/ mud flaps + an aluminum Rapid Hitch (one of the best investments!)
Feel free to PM with any questions about any of my mods.

That would be fine with me. Right now I see between 10.5-11.5 mixed with my 4.88's. Only 2300 miles on 'er.

I am not sure. Maybe I am just lucky but I am getting 13-14 with 4.88's. Only about 4000 miles right now. I am hopeing to hit 15-16 someday.

If I get my 450 with 4.30's, I would absolutely be thrilled to get 15-16 mpg. I'll be content with 14-15. That would equal or better my 6.0.
