Ipod kit called Trip Tunes

I have ordered an Ipod kit called "Trp Tunes" sold by Ford that hooks up to the factory stereo that charges the unit and allows you to control your Ipod through the stereo controls. That way yo can throw it in the glove box and not have to mess with it!!! I have not received all of it yet though. There is a wire harness that you have to buy that is sold desperately. Also they state that it will not hook up to units that have Navigation. I will post on here once I get it installed and see how well it works.

Still loving my 6.4

what i was told by a supplier of the interface was
if you have factory satillite this is where the i-pod plugs into
the aux button is for rear dvd
which i don't have on my truck.
So for now this item won't work.

I'd just replace the whole head unit with an aftermarket unit that has iPod interface. Though I see where you guys are coming from, as how people/vehicle manufacturers are integrating iPod connectivity into newer vehicles and the steering wheel controls and such.

Cant blame ya for wanting to keep the steering wheel controls... Something I have never had. Though a remote control that controls my iPod/head unit that sits on my lap half the time and in my center console the rest of the time doesn't bother me much........

Trip Tunes Advanced Installed

I finally got my Trip Tunes and installed it. The directions that are on the fmcdealer connection web site would not load when I tried to get them but managed to figure it out. Not to hard to install once you know the process and seems to work fairly well. Not sure if it was worth 300 smackers. There is another company that makes something very similar. Here is the link: http://www.brandmotion.com/products-ipod-adapter.php

Since I hate listing to the radio this was defiantly the way to go!!

Later all,

Robert
