Post Did anyone order the High Capacity Trailer Package on the F-450 and if so...

...what documentation did you get to show that your truck is rated to handle a 24,000# Fiver?

I called my dealer about this today and he is checking into it for me. If we are stopped in any state that has restrictions on total GCWR, I'm hoping that the fact that you ordered options to support a total of 33,000#'s (truck and rig) might be of assistance.

I can't find anything on the door jam stickers, dealer invoice or window sticker indicating the 33,000#'s GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating).

different states have different wt's for RV's. Dot says you don't need a class A till you exceed 26k. Calif says if your trailer exceeds 13500lb's gvw, you need an RV class A. Some states do not have these kind of laws. I have friends that drive heavy duty trks pulling 20k 5ers WITH a car behind the 5er. Thats a set of doubles and have no problems with cops except in Calif where you need a commercial clas A. Some states have even told them that the class A laws only apply to commerical vehicals and not RV's.
