Stop Safley Now????

I was going down the road doing 70 mph when the truck went into regen, took about 5 mins and I was like cool, then a bout 30 seconds after regen stopped the display said "Stop Safely Now", so i go to slow down and the truck shuts off. I was on the phone with SouthTexasdiesel and he told me that I was screwed cause he has heard of this before and it takes about an hour for the truck to restart. So he got in this truck and drove 45 mins to come get me. I tried to start my truck when he got there and it wouldn't start. We hook the truck up and start towing it, just for *****'s and giggles I try to start it and it starts. So we pull over disconnect the truck and I start on back down the road. Truck goes back into regen again for about 10 mins. We get to the next town and look at the tail pipe and it was as black as my 6.0 was. The truck runs fine the whole way, when we get back to my house i shut it off and it starts fine. Been driving it with no problems now. It through a P200E code, can't find anything on it. Anyone know what the hell happened to my truck???

Wow, this doesn't look like something I would want to deal with. Damn emissions.

Happened again last night at 2 am. Was on my way back from a concert in a different town and started the regen. The next thing I know it says "Stop Safely Now". Since I had 3 girls in the truck I was going to just keep driving but it lost all power and made me pull over. Truck restarted at 3 am and made it home. This morning I get up start the truck and its louder now. Guess the DPF is almost toast now. My service writer(really good friend) is going on vacation next week so I have to wait till he gets back to put it in the shop.

I'm really getting tired of this crap, I think I'm just going to call Spartan and get the DPF delete package and move on. I'm tired of waiting on SCT to come out with the regen delete program and of the person thats suppose to be making my DPF/DOC delete pipe.

Gotta agree with folks here, DANG emissions. I am glad my dad's in a 6.0 and didnt wait any longer to get a new diesel, if he had to put up with this crapola I would never hear the end of it from him!

Hey SAK, Just curious, but when your truck would not start-would the starter engage or did nothing happen when you tried to start it?

The starter will not engage. It's like a bad ground on the starter. Power to everything else though. Happened to me late one night. SAK check the DPF pressure sensor. If its cracked or broken it will cause the DPF to go into a hard regen cycle and shut down. (And check all the wiring too. Some of my wires melted from the heat coming off of the exhaust when the truck wasnt moving). Thats what caused mine. Stupid DPF.

Lets just say not quite stock.

Any idea what the exhaust temps were? The DPF is probably toast now.
