White smoke??

I'm getting alot of white smoke out of the exhaust?? Not all the time, maybe once or twice in one tank of fuel. Have been using Power Service cetane boost(white bottle) scince the second tank of fuel. Truck runs fine but, its alot of smoke, and lasts for about 30 seconds. Anyone else having this problem?

It's most likely the truck going into regen (where it cleans the DPF). There have been a lot of reports lately of the white smoke, especially with cooler temps. Some trucks do it, and some don't. I've had that myself, and have a tuner that flashes when the truck goes into regen. Like clockwork, twice so far, as soon as regen starts the smoke came pouring out.

are you bored or what? That was an issue with two trucks about one year ago. Nothing since then. :RTFM:

Oh your "one friend" eh? Did your "one friend" have the truck flashed like he was supposed to with the recall? If so, can you get his VIN number?

that was a specific incident that happened a while ago, it's been tuned out, it does not happen anymore, what the smoke is probably just the unburned fuel the regen puts through the dpf burning off the stuff caught in it, nothing to worry about unless it starts running rough, try and cut down on the additive, that could be burning differently than just ulsd and causing the smoke

White Smoke....Yes my Powerstroke will billow white smoke at least once a week for 20 - 30 seconds. I had it checked out and Ford tells me it is OK! I had them put the most recent software in the truck incase that might help. It seems to be related to the Regen process and the cold weather.

Don't use that additive. It does't do anything for your tk except thin out the lube in your fuel. Save your money for buying fuel, since it cost so much by it self. Man are we getting scr..d.
