stock truck blowing smoke ( black smoke )

friends truck... bone stock.. not one thing done to it besides different tires and rims.. blows smoke.. and im not saying a little haze or a little puff.. its smoke... and no its not in regen so dont say its in regen... even after the truck regen's it still blows smoke.. before i post the video up.. anyone got any ideas???

yeah he better get it looked at, or he will start seeing lots of smoke during regen and im not talking black... BLUE! mine is the same way and now during regen sometimes it will just start blowing blue smoke, and lots of it!

Was that in drive with his foot on the brake? I'm going to have to try that.

I suspect my DPF is cracked as well. I've got the black tips, regen @ every 650 mile mark like clockwork but never any other time (keep in mind my speedometer is off because of tires), and the billowing white smoke on regen in cool/cold temps (which is actually kindof funny to see).

Is his fuel mileage decent? (compared to other 08's only) I feel that a cracked dpf is like the closest we'll ever get to a 'dpf delete', from the factory. My mileage (before the lift/tires) was around 18 highway. Who knows how long a cracked dpf will last before it really does get too plugged up, but the warranty is for 100,000mi... so.... :shrug:

he never complains about fuel mileage.. his foot was on the brake for i have no idea why.. lol.. the truck wasnt in drive. the cracked filter actually ( personally i think) made his fuel mileage better.. ill find out for you guys

he's getting mileage by 2-3 per gallon so.. hope that helps you guys out
