I believe that it is not. My dealership wants $267.00 to replace my (2) fuel filters and change the oil and oil filter in my rig. That will take me a total of "maybe" 1 to 1 1/2 hours to do all of it for about $100.00. Multiply that by the service intervals that they will do the service and it is just not worth it.
Plus you are doing a cleaner job than they are because you care more about your vehicle than they do.:RTFM:

Has anyone successfully changed the fuel filters yet? I was told the dealership had to do this or you have to have a special tool. (High pressure system)

Thanks for the info. I decided to do it myself. This is the first time I change my oil @ 5550 miles. I will continue to service what I can and then let the dealer do the rest as it is needed.

OK Nick, or one of the other guys that is a DIY'er, I need you to chime in on this.
Have you done your fuel filters yet?
If so, is there a special tool involved? I have read the old thread and it seemed to go both ways.
Tool or no tool?
I have also read the excellent sticky 6.4L bible numerous times that we have here on the site, plus the owners manual and it looks to me that you can do the "turn it to on, wait 30 seconds, turn it off, and do it 6 time thing" should take care of any air in the system.
Am I correct or just a dumb *****.

They only reason I am getting my dealership to do my maintenance is because they are throwing in 2 free sets of tires if I service it there...up to $250 a tire.

Has anyone else knocked out the fuel filters besides the Lubester?:
I am just interested in if anyone has had a problem with this yet so far?
