Proper break-in

Ok Diesel Guru’s, let me go ahead and pass one by you.
Remember, you are talking to a "Diesel Newbie" here.
I have read on other postings that to really get the vehicle broken in correctly, I need to get a good load on, and start pulling to get my EGT’s up enough for a “proper” break-in of the motor.
Can anyone please tell me if this is true, or just another ‘ole wives tale” that gets passed around on the internet.
My little cruiser is just a daily driver until summer time comes around, and I want to do the right thing.
8000 or so miles on motor, (95 or so Highway miles put on per day).
Thanks for the help and please excuse the long Post.
~Mike~

That looks like proper procedure to me!

Do you think they break in big rigs before they hook a load up to them for the first time? I would say No. Just hook it up and have fun!

I might not be wording myself correctly here.
Some of the things I have been reading are saying that if I DO NOT get going in the pull department/Hard enough running to properly break in the motor/Bring up EGT's enough, That I will have problems with the vehicle down the road.
