It changes shift patterns. Not sure about the lock up but I'm 99% sure that's a yes. Don't know though, my truck only gets the 275 and its locked up in that all the time it seems.

The biggest advantage is the transmision will downshift to help you slow down much like you would do in a standard. This is really helpfull when towing a heavy trailer

I use it all the time on hills and stopping for lights if I am at any kind of speed. It make it stop SO much better and besides the Tranny has warranty but the brakes don't!!!

Another thing to concider, is that. The shift pattern for down shifting are MUCH more aggressive when the truck is pulling or loaded up. When I pull my 5th wheel. The truck will kick down while breaking as soon as it can get into the next gear safety, Ive seen as high as 2800-2900rpm after it down shifts.

Lets just say not quite stock.
Slower than some. Faster than most.

The way I see this you won't go into 6th gear OD until you hit 66 mph. I need to drive faster to get in High gear. I generally drive about 63 mph when towing.

I'm pretty sure the 5r110 is a 5 speed auto.

I believe it has 6 gears total with only 5 being used as there is a cold shift strategy and warm shift strategy.

They are 6speeds, but as the charts shows, they are not used all the time.. 6gears means 6speeds.. 4th and 5th are almost identical.
