Fan seems to run alot

I have an 08 f250. I think its a job#3 (build date 2-08) and it seems like my fan runs all the time. Especially when i start it and let it try to warm up. Its been cold here about -20 or so but now warming up. Its done this since i bought it back in November. Is this common? It just seems like the fan shouldn't run whn its -20. Thanks for the help/input

Wow, that is way to much. An example is my truck. The fan has only gone on once while towing a 9600 lb 5iver in Utah during the summer. I tow about 30% of the time, 25,000 miles and it has only come on once. That thing will chew up the fuel mileage when it's on. Sounds like a sensor is out.

might just need a reflash. Dad bout his truck and trove it to NC the same day pulling a 10k lb camper. the fan ran 95% of the time. He was ready to trade it in after that ride from hell

I'll bet you have the snow plow package. I don't remember the
exact details, but I remember reading something about more
fan action/cooling with the snow plow package. Mine has it and
the fan runs almost all the time.

What does the snowplow package include? The coolers all seem to look clean. I think i'm gonna take it in on friday. I don't think the fan is running all the time but on the warm up it does all the time. Gonna take it out tonight and pay more attention to it

Just got off the phone with ford and they said that it was normal to be loud and run a lot because it is cold at first. I'm gonna pay more attention to it tonight and see what the heck is going on. This is also with my defrost and heat off. I think its just when it idles

Window sticker said nothing about it.

So when i started my truck (first time of the day), it has been plugged in, the fan came on and ran even when it kicked into high idle and didn't stop till i took off. I can't tell if its running while driving, but when i got home and let it idle the fan seemed to speed up and slow down and kept doing that till i shut it off. It wasn't ran hard but it was all warmed up
