Did it ever really work? When I test drove one at 4 degrees outside it didn't seem to get any warmer faster. Thats the only reason I didn't put one in my truck when I ordered mine. Maybe I was supposed to let the truck idle for more than 15 minutes.

Mine gets warm after about a minute and doesn't blow 100 degree air but blows air that is a hell of a lot warmer than like 20...

Does anyone with a service manual have the procedure the techs use?

Why don't you take it to the dealership and have them check it out?

Mine doesn't seem to work real well either. I was expecting to feel a difference.

Buy a cheap bulb weather thermometer and hold it near the vent. That's the same test the techs use for A/C, just with more sophisticated thermometers. But you really should feel the difference. It takes about 30 seconds to flush the cold air from the plenums. Its warm, not hot so don't expect TOO much, but it is nice. Also the owners manual says it works best on low to medium fan settings, so it must be a small or low powered element. For those that asked: Its an electric element, so letting the truck idle to w2arm it has no effect

I was having the same problem with mine. Do this. Start the truck with the blower off and then turn your temp up to 90 degrees or just the hottest setting. Then turn your defront on and run it at half fan speed. Like right in the middle. Ok, check the air temp when you first turn the defrost on and then take the thermometer away. Let the truck run 2 minutes and check it again. It takes awhile but trust me its working. My truck get's pretty warm inside as long as you run it at no higher than medium fast speed. Even when the heat gauge hasn't moved it still blows pretty good warm air

I always wonder cause I leave mine in the auto setting no matter what the temp,so the next cold day I will run it in manual mode and take a temp reading. Thanks for the tips.
