gonna make the jump

Fellas,

I have decided to trade in my trusty 7.3 for a newer truck.

Should I go for the 6.4 or get an older one with a 6.0?

Unless you have a personal reason for getting rid of the 7.3L I would say keep it. Otherwise, the 09's do look nice....

high mileage

Fellas,

Thanks for the replies.

My current 7.3 is up over 200,000 miles now. The repair bills have been killing me lately.

I travel all over the country for my job, and taking a full compliment of wrenches along is just not feasible. Every time it needs some repairs done, I have to pay for it and a rental car.

I'm hoping that a newer truck with less miles would be a bit more reliable.

Not sure that ALL the 6.0's would fit this bill. But mine has been good to me. What about getting an "overhaul" on the ol 7.3? Not tossing wrenches here, just another ave.

EB,

I just left Missouri. I was at FLW this past summer. Lots of things to do in that area, might make it home after I retire.

Thought about the rebuild route, but I think it is more in line with all the accessories that go boom one at a time. You know, starter, alternator, clutch, wheel bearings, etc, etc. (Dang, I hate not having my garage available.)

I've been reading about the radiator problems in the 6.4, and not liking the idea too well................How wide spread is this problem?

Why not wait and get the new 6.7. Going to be out later this year.

Lets just say not quite stock.
