My EGR block update

Ok me and a buddy of mine decided to try and get this POS EGR blocked off. Got the two bolts undone and realized that I have a small drip going into the exhaust stream definately a EGR not headgasket. So I am going to bypass the EGR's coolant flow tomorrow. Is it just as simple as taking the line going into cooler one and the line on top of cooler two and hooking them together?

Hey trapit. Could you post some picks. Is this easily done in the drive way. How much more of a pain in the arse is it to install a delete plate in the horizontal EGR inlet? I would look at mine (cab is off) but im 18hrs away from it working right now.

Lets just say not quite stock.

In between the EDOC and cooler one, above the exhaust manifold there is an easy spot to get to. By taking the tire off it's easier, but even with it on it isn't bad. I'm simply sliding a 1/4 inch steel plate in between the two flanges, making a mark for the two holes, drilling then bolting it right in between the two. Noticed the drip, so I'm not done and haven't even run the truck yet for feedback

Wait, so you undid the connection right at the back of the horizontal egr cooler? And coolant was dripping out? Starting to think my theory might have been on track. If that "leak" allows coolant out (into the exhaust stream), it will also allow exhaust gas / bubbles into your coolant stream, headed for the degas bottle.

And to the post above.... that plug looks like a block off as a replacement for the egr valve itself on the tail end of the egr system, not the egr inlet at the back of the engine. The 2 o-rings are in the same locations as the 2 divisions inside the egr valve port.
