Volant cold air intake?

Does anyone own a Volant cold air intake for the 6.4L Power Stroke, the one that sucks air from the fender emblem, just wondering if it's worth the extra money, makes the engine light go on, and if installation is hard?

I'm investigating several flexible boots (DIY project) that will adapt to the existing stock intake housing. I'm using a drop in filter already (airraid). I plan to remove the existing cold-air-intake tube and route directly to the side intake vent. Finding the appropriate boot is the challenge to make the connection.

I think they are pretty hard to install. And its not going to give you a whole lot of performance. I would just get an S&B or AFE.

aerodynamics will be working against you, don't waste the money, get an AFE, the one that has no box, just the big open filter, will hear the turbos alot better too

Ya, you can hear them pretty good. Im probably gonna take off the cover for it. It also comes with a thing that goes over the filter to further filter out dust.

We own a truck with the Volant intake. It is a nice piece, but was much harder to install than the S&B. The volant has never thrown a code. On the dyno, our two trucks were within 6hp of each other. One has the S&B and the other has the Volant but different exhaust setups which is where the power difference probably is.
