Get your recalls done...

Here is a radiator out of a truck that came in the other day.. Truck started smoking over the weekend and he continued to drive it until it shut down on him going down the interstate. He completely blew the end out of the radiator and blew the degas bottle cap apart. ALL because he didn't come in for a 2 min. recall but the idiot also continued to drive it while all coolant was pouring out. The WHOLE truck is covered in coolant so it isn't like he didn't notice it. Needless to say the cab is now off and tearing into the engine monday...

I hate the clamp on endcaps, they leak on more than just the 6.4. My ex had a infiniti Q45 and it had the same prob and it over heated a few times and after 3 radiator replacements I finaly had enough and tracked down a full metal (brass) replacement. Since then never a over heating prob again. Why do they do this? Some will say its cheaper to make but in the end isnt it costing them more in replacement cost for all of these recalls?

I hate to say it but i hope he gets the bill for the repair. Severe stupidity should come with a fine. Although, i really wonder if this was more of a pressure issue then not having the T recall done. Makes me wonder since i just checked the bottle on my 1-week old truck and they had left the degas bottle pressure cap loose. Maybe we really need to install lower pressure caps...

I agree that the guy should'nt have kept driving it with coolant pouring out, but the venture "T" I dont believe does anything to help with the radiator. Ive gone thru 2 radiators since ive had mine installed.

He probibly has coolant in the oil due to air in the system causing the water pump to cavitate and eat thru the cover into the block. Thats exactly what happened to mine and another work truck because we drove them too long with the radiator's leaking.

Is this the guys first radiator thats leaking? Mines leaking right now but I cant afford to lose my truck right now so hopefuly it will last a couple weeks until i can take it in. If not and something happens ford can fix it again since they cant install a radiator that lasts more than 3,000 miles.

My truck is a job I though I have had not a single issue. Should I still take it in for the radiaror recall? I Need the venturi T as well and the window recall.

YES, you should. With the Job 1 trucks, it's not a matter of "if" the radiator leaks. It's a matter of "when" they will leak. My radiator started leaking after my Venturi recall. The problem with your truck is that the radiator isn't leaking so they won't change it, although they should. If I were you, make it leak before your warranty runs out and get the venturi installed.

My job 1 just started leaking with 16k on it. Funny I just towed my 5th wheel for the first time a couple of days ago. It's going in tomorrow.

Is there someplace I can go to enter my VIN to find out what recalls have been done or are needed to be done?

Excuse my ignorance.
