Before the last flash it would go into regen as I was setting the brake in the drive way.

Yeah...What a PAIN. I had JUST come back from a 350 mile all interstate (I-87) the day before and then the thing decides to "clean the exhaust filter" when I am 3 miles from home on back roads...so I took a 15 minute detour BACK to a highway just to finish. I think my truck hates me...

That is why I just 86'ed the DOC/DPF so I didn't have to run my life around my truck. You have no idea how nice it is to get somewhere, wait till the pre turbo egt's are under 400(usually I wait untill 350) and then shut it off. A lot better than having it go into regen a mile before home, or my destination. That was my second biggest reason to get rid of the restrictive piece of $4K garbage.

It's OK to shut it down. It will just continue the next time you start it. If you have the latest flash it will not regen at idle.

I don't see how it is ok to shut it down. The pre turbo egt's are way too high to just shut down. If you did it every once and a while, you are ok. If you shut down like that all the time, the turbo will fail prematurely. I think overall you are better off to finish the exhaust clean cycle, or get rid of all that crap and not worry about it

I almost wish there was a way to manually make it go into a regen mode. Mine always wants to regen during the weeks I use the truck as a commuter and I only live ten minutes from home. But when I do an hour on the freeway, it won't don a regen...would be nice if I knew it that it had been trying to regen for a few days, I could tell it regen when I knew I would be on the freeway for a half hour.
