By-pass filter

Does anyone know for sure if putting on a FS by-pass filter on will void the engine warranty? I wrote Ford an e-mail but haven't heard anything yet. I will let everyone know when they get back to me.

They can void warranty. Check with your dealer service advisor.

What he said^^^^^^^^^. Its kind of up to the dealer. They shouldn't have a problem with it but some will because it isn't factory.

I've been thinking about getting the Amsoil bypass kit. Anything bad about it, that makes the FS better?

Its another oil filter it keeps your oil a lot cleaner than the stock filter. It acutally allows you to go longer periods between oil changes. Do a search FS-2500 on the board there are numerous threads about it.

I would like to answer two questions.

As far as the warranty if you are using a Amsoil filter and if Amsoil knows of a dealer doing this they will contact that dealer because it is against the law. But really why would a dealer stop you from filtering the oil better than they are doing it, it is to there advantage IMO.

This is quote from a other post.
I have had both.

I did not think the FS filter was filtering the oil as well as they claimed. We went round and round about this. The replacement filters are expensive and only are good for only 10k the unit is made very well very good engineering. When I was using Amsoils OEM filters the filter was ok when I stopped the oil did get much darker, I change to Amsoil the oil has been much cleaner since. A note the soot we put in the oil is a lot and is hard to remove. I went 38k on the last oil change the oil was very sooty more than I could stand. The sample at 29k was good for 10k more when I pulled the sample I decided to change the oil I do wish I had done a sample I save the oil for a sample just did not send it in.

Amsoil now offers an CJ4 that has more additive so it can go longer oil drain intervals 15k at this point.

I have attached the two that apply. I posted this info here as well.

I find that to be a very bias statement coming from an amsoil rep ! I currently own 2 FS-2500's on a 6.0L diesel and 6.4L diesel. I test my samples religously and everything comes back in the normal range. Why do you say fs2500 replacement filters are expensive ??? I think I pay like $20 or $30 for the replacement filters which I find to be inexpense. I don't think that anything Amsoil carry's is cheaply priceed how much does the amsoil filters go for ? I understand you are very proud of the product you sell and that's good but I don't find amsoil to the the end all say all in the automotive aftermarket. I recently stop using amsoil oil filters, fuel filters and oil in 6 vehicles b/c I found there customer service and product to not be what it's claim to be.
