turbo lag?

i thought the twin turbo was suppose to fix that? mine is far worse than my 6.0 was. i can smash the gas from a dead stop and it takes 3-4 seconds before it finally kicks in. it does this when i pass some one too.

also anybody elses make that terrible wobbling sound when it spools down? like when you get on it then right back off of it.

Garage
try easing into the throttle, these trucks have a system, that when it senses you floor it, it dampens the signal, so it wont take off from the line to fast.

It will never have good throttle response stock...the stock tuning is pretty tame.

And that sound you hear is turbo fart...theres no wastegate..so it makes that sound through the intake.

Like Weaver said dont punch it just go half + pedal and that will help, and you will always have to plan your passes, its not a gasser!! Once you tune the truck its WAY better.

Yah. Mine is mush too if I trounce it too hard. Best response is half down and then keep pushing. Agree with Scott. Will never be quick without some tuning.

Plus the stock tune has that programmed lag to prevent/reduce that puff of black smoke every time you take off... to save the DPF.

turbo lag creats more smoke b/c there's more fuel but no increase in air so there is less combustion. Correct?

2008 F250 CC SB - It all wont fit in the sig so why bother?

correct, but if you keep the fuel at a slow "pour on" to the engine, it will spool slower because it has nothing to spin them up...all in the tuning

Right... the lag I was referring to is what trapit mentioned, fuel-lag to prevent that smoke.

My guess is that when you stomp on it, it releases a small amount of fuel immediately to get the turbo going, then dumps the real fuel on shortly after, as the turbo is now ramping up quickly in speed and pressure.
