Help please

So I bought this f450 last week and for the first time last night I had it in the mud. As i was entering the mud I shifted her into 4x4 high I got in with no problem. I was going to pull out a small kubota tractor that I had got hung up . So to the point the front wheels would not spin in the truck so I stopped waited 30 seconds and put it in 4 low when i shifted to park there was a grinding noise as if I was driving and stuffed it in park. So now Im in 4 low and still the front left wheels spun a few times. The hubs were not locked. So am i doing something wrong or is this truck a pos.

Sounds like you did it right. On my 250 the vacuum solonoid is going bad. It controls the vacuum going to the hubs. Did you try to manually lock in the hubs? If you can manually lock them it then you probably have a bad switch, a bad solonoid or a leak in the vacuum lines. If you manually locked in the hubs and still had no pull then you have a bad hub. The solonoid is located above the passenger wheel inside the quarter panel. I'll try to find a picture.

If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen. - quote by Samuel Adams

Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end
