Tranny Flush

Does anyone know if there is an acceptible synthetic trans fluid for our automatic tranny's? I want to do a tranny flush and I'm debating going to Ford or not. I know of a tranny shop that will flush with a synthetic fluid if I want but I need to provide the fluid.

I would only use Mercon SP from the dealer. I had a trans go on me years back form using the wrong fluid. It's expensive but you don't change it that often. I use Amsoil for my oil, gear, grease, ect, and think it's great. I just wouldnt risk it with the trans. Just my $.02. Ken.

I understand your concerns but Amsoil will work just fine. I know it is not a fair comparison I use it and I am at 70k I have others with way more miles than I do.
It would be considered severe duty and only Guaranteed for 50k in the 6.4.

but YOU dont own a 5r110 TORQ-SHIFT !
ONLY MERCON SP is approved for use in the 03-CURRENT 6.0L 5r110 TORQSHIFT

MERCON SP is available on the "net" and at some local retailers...i know
the price has floated up a little but its less than 1/2 the price (at a retailer)
than what the dealer will try to get !

No he doesn't.

But...in the link he provided Amsoil does recommend their product for fluid that requires Mercon V and SP.

From there...its up to the original poster to follow what he wishes.

Ask you local dealer to sell it to you from his 55 gallon drum. I know my local dealer will sell it bulk in my containers for about 1/2 the cost of buying it in quarts.
