Injection Pump Adjustments

Does anyone know how to turn the fuel up a little on a VW 1.6L N/A Diesel? I am looking for a little bit more fuel and smoke. It smokes a little bit now, but I would like a bit more and thicker haze. Thanks in advance, Chris

That's easy. Just look for the screw with the 13mm lock nut on it just above the injection lines on the back of the pump. Loosen the lock nut and turn the screw in with it running. The idle will increase, which will have to be adjusted. Make sure you do not turn the fuel up too high as it will run away!! If you rev the engine and it hangs on high RPM before coming back down, turn the fuel screw out just a bit. Hope this helps!! My little 1.6 had people swerving on every full throttle pull!!

Thanks for the heads up. I will take a look at it. I like the smoke it has, but hey more is better right? Thanks again, Chris

I'm going to adjust it when the weather warms up and I don't have the Cold Starts to deal with. Looking forward to it:Thumbup:

I turned it up a little. A nice amount of smoke. I am going to run it and see if I like it or want more / less. Time will tell, so will mileage. Chris
