Pondering on trading my Cummins for VW

Do to money issues I'm thinking about getting rid of my Cummins for something that does better than my miesely 28 MPG Cummins.
I need something closer to 60 like a VW Diesel.

I was wondering if they had their on and off years or what should look for when buying one?

Ya i know it's good for the truck, but right now I could use something that gets 100MPG and I'd still have money issues.

60 mpg is a little out there. the 04-05 jettas could get 50. I average 45 with mine. You might want to look into a golf, a little smaller, lighter car, and they may get closer to 50. If I got 28 with my truck, I would drive it all day.

What about those new Rabbits?? Is the TDI available in them? They are a sweet little ride. If it wasnt for me needing a truck I would have a TDI. I have often thought about getting rid of my ranger and buying one but my wife said that she would laugh at me if I did. When she is getting 16-17mpg out of her Explorer who will be laughing when Im getting 40-45?

Everyone laughs when I tell them about the Jetta, but that stops when I tell them the mileage I would love to havea TDI, someday. I got this to save the miles on the truck and use for running around. Chris

I'm a little more country than that...

I am actually a VW salesman for Maroone Volkswagen in Delray Beach, Fl. We sell every TDI that comes in very quickly. For 2007 we will only have two TDI's the Jetta and V10 Touareg <beast>.
If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask.

I was under the impression the TDI wasn't going to be available in my 2007 since VW doesn't have an engine ready that will meet emission standards.

The TDI Touareg passes because its curb weight. Its in the heaveyduty class.

The Jetta will be avaliable in a TDI in what they call a "Special Edition." But there will only a limited amount.

This time next year the 2008 VW's will have more TDI's avaliable.
