Pics of my diesel Volvo

Okay, well, so, I finally got time to go take pics of my Volvo. I took--literally--over a hundred, and they're all really high resolution, so these few are just the scaled-down versions of my top picks. If you want to see more, let me know and I can email you the files.

BTW, I found out today that mine isn't a 240 GL...it's a 240 DL. My bad.

WOW!

Same exterior color as mine! BTW it is VERY difficult to get qualified people to work on them. If you over Tq the IP drive belt, you WILL FAIL the IP, and quick!

Yeah--thanks for that. I've heard some good bits of advice about caring for these Volvos. Another thing I've heard is to keep up with timing belt changes. Also, to extend the life of the engine, to use 5w30 instead of 15w40.

There's a garage here called Classic Transit; there are three guys there, all very compent and experienced, and the only thing that dealership will service is Volvos, Saabs, VWs, Audis, and Mercedes. They have over 10 Volvos on the lot at any given time--Volvo is their specialty--and they DO have experience with the diesel models. There's a 760 turbo diesel there now too.

I've been in there to work with them, and they REALLY know their stuff. I feel very safe leaving my baby there.

Yes, if the CAM belt breaks, it is RUINED, there is NO fixing it and no spare heads to be found.

Don't ask how I know.

Lucky you with a 5 speed!

Hehe thanks...I know. I wouldn't own it if it was an automatic. The one accident I've ever been in was CAUSED by an automatic transmission hybrid car (water got into the control unit on a rainy day, at 65 MPH, and my day went to hell in a handbasket...). Hence, every car I own (and have ever owned, and will ever own) is a stick. I won't even ride in an automatic any more.
