Look at the Driver's side of the Injection Pump, you will see a screw. The Lock Nut is 13 MM and the Screw is 6 MM. Turning it Clockwise while running will give you more fuel, but be prepared it will Idle higher. Chris

If your 1980 has the bosch pump that is the way to do it, if you are worried about the idle look on the top of the pump at the throttle and you should be able to adjust the stop and lower you idle, if you go to far you will have to adjust you cable. I attached a pic of my 1981 rabbit truck, it smokes and was still getting high 30's low 40's and would actually run the speed limit on the freeway.

I believe so, take a look at your Injection Pump and see if it is the same. Chris
