New Addition

Well I pick up my new addition this weekend. I have found a 1991 VW Jetta Diesel 5 Speed for a steal of a price. It has some miles on her, 230K, but nothing that I mind. She runs strong. Looking forward to the awsome mileage on: compared to my truck, which I love. Let the fun begin, Chris

I'm picking it up for like $800. I can't wait. The guy I'm getting it from is busy today, so it will probably be tomorrow afternoon. Then I just have to get it on the road. I'll get a hold of you later and tell ya all about it. Chris

OK I got her and before I put her on the road I'm gonna go right through her. I am going to change out all fluids. Does anyone know the Oil and Coolant capacity on the 1.6 NA? What about the proper way to change out the fuel filter? I plan on changing the oil and after doing other work on it around the garage and ensuring that I have loosed up anything that's in there doing another oil change, with filters both times obviously. The only other question I have is where is the temperature sensor? After changing out the engine the guy couldn't get the fan to come on so he put a switch in there for manual control. I think it was a bad temperature sensor and what ever else it needs to be controled. Thanks in advance, Chris
