I just got a call, there's one in Atlanta. Not exactly what I'm looking for but beggars can't be choosers... Guess I'll be cranking the truck to make a pickup run...

Be sure to check out Garmon's place while you are there. Andy (toomuchboost) Hails from ATL. Maybe he can take you for a ride in the fastest passat TDI in north america...

From what I hear, '06 was the last year officially for V-Dub TDI's. Unless.., either the EPA relaxes it's standards or VW comes up with a cleaner diesel technology in the US. The next gen Golfs ('06.5's - the ones that match the new Jetta's) will not include any TDI's. I'm sure the're capable but I figure it's probably going to be at least a couple years and I want to get started saving now! :

If this is not correct, don't shoot me - I've just compiled this from all the reading I've been doing.

I saw some Jetta's at the Valdosta, GA dealer Monday but that was it.

They are going to common rail for 07 and there is no 06 TDI Passat. I might have to dump this puppy this summer and pocket some serious cash.......I better not blow it up in the meantime... I was looking at book values the other night and retail even with mileage deduction is exactly what I paid for the car 12/04 which was dealer invoice.

Between the resale and IRS mileage deduction for 05 this was the smartest vehicle move I have ever made even if it's a car.

She's just about home now! I picked her up on Sat. at Jim Mills, I think, VW off exit 31 on the 285 bypass in Atlanta (Doraville) and I just dropped her at the local dealer this morning for prep and paperwork. Might be able to bring her home tonight.

Here's what I got:

'06 Golf TDI GLS
Antracite blue (looks like char. gray) ext./Black vel interior
Stability conrtrol
Alum. wheels
Auto trans (wanted manual)
Monsoon stereo

One of only 4 new ones left on the East coast!
