What diesel cars are out there?

The only two I know of right now are the VW Jetta and BMW 335d. My girlfriend wants to get a new car soon and wants an Altima. She knows I love diesels and if we're going to get a new car that I want it to be a diesel. I don't mind the Jetta's, but she says she doesn't like them. They are in the price range we would pay for a new car. The BMW 335d is pretty expensive and mileage doesn't seem that great from what I seen on their site.

Is there any other diesel cars out there or will I have to talk her into getting a Jetta?

I really don't want to spend more than $30k. I'm sure they will cost much more than that.

talk her into the Jetta.

Life changes, so roll with it, not against it.

Talked to her again and tried to do the cash for clunkers for a Jetta TDI, but all the VW dealers said they stopped this that are in central Florida. She has a 2002 Pontiac Grand AM 2.2L, so I thought it would qualify for the program. We're hoping to get like 3k for her car and will have a 3k cash down payment to go with it. That or I'll go talk to my bank and get a loan for the money. what kind of price am I looking at?

The dealers said they wanted 25k for automatics, but hoping I can talk them down some. The soonest a dealer will have one in will be next week, so I'm in no rush right now. I might even wait a month to put another 2k cash down payment for 5k cash + her car. Wish me luck guys!

Those grand ams get like 30mpg HWY and 22 in town... no way that was qualifying for cash for clunkers. Car needed to be 17mpg or worse.

Yea, but I didn't know that. I thought it just had to be a car that got better MPG.
