Alarm 2006 Jetta

Anyone know of a good alarm/remotestart for a 2006 jetta. The car audio shops up here refuse to install due to the airbag even though i told them i can erase the codes with my vagcom. I know for most veh they make a plug and play system. Just wondering if anyone has something installed

I don't have a airbag code. When they put in a alarm/remote start they have to take the stearing wheel airbag off this will set a airbage code. Then they do't want to take responcibility or pay the cost to drive it to a vw shop to get it errased after they are done. But i can erase their code before it leaves thier shop

hehe no not really... I used to work for VW and one of my budies is a vw tech. Im more than compfortable installing the alarm/auto start but i wanted the sterio shop to do it because he does some awsome work and if anything goes wrong no matter how long you have had it he will always fix it no charge. Im not shure if this is a canada thing or not hehe but when i was still working for VW i was talking to some other dealers about them and none of them will do the install. Their alwas seemed to be troubles after the installes and they always ended up removing them. I know it can be done with no troubles. Just need to find out what people are using with success.

if you know how to do it then DO IT...
ive always found it easier to fix stuff ive done <it breaks less often, honestly> then
trying to fix someone elses mistakes.

yep i agree on that one. Im one of those people that refuses to take anythiing to a shop. I will spend the money on the tooling needed for the job even if i only do it once.

Garage
If an approved installer doesn't install it the warranty goes to poop.
