Strange how nobody complains about pharamaceutical and financial sector profits being even higher.

And what's worse, the financial sector whines like a piglet on a teet to the gov't for help/intervention (ala Bear Stearns) when they take a hit.

Oil companies don't do that.

Because most people in this country don't have to fork over $50-$100/week for perscription drugs. Fuel bills are paid more often and therefore in the minds of people more often. Not too mention everytime you turn on the news you hear about it.

Life changes, so roll with it, not against it.

And you think the pharmaceiutical industry in imune from this sort of complaining? think again look at any site for retired people read their comments and than come back here and tell us that. some older people have to consider do I buy my drugs or do I eat. sad this happens in america to our people while we feed the world. Should take care of our own first.

Russ, no you don't directly feel the pinch of the cost of drugs because most of us have insurance coverage to pay for them, but what you DO feel is the pinch of higher insurance premiums & co-pays that kill our wallets.

If you saw the % profits drug (and medical) companies were making off you, you wouldn't care as much about oil company profits anymore.

I do know quite a few people on prescription drugs that are paying obscene amounts for them out of their Social Security leaving little else in their check.

Your preaching to the choir. My dad has to stay on a couple of drugs for the rest of his life just so he can wake up every morning. He has to get them all the way from Israel, just so he can afford them.

The OP needs to revise the thread title to better reflect the truth:

"Oil companies post mediocre profit margins again"

or

"The Gov't posts record taxes on fuel again"

To continue to post this liberal-inspired crap trying to blame it all on oil companies is stupid.

If anyone is envious that the oil companies are making big profits, then invest in them. They will gladly share with you. Oil companies are owned in part by people like you and me.

Profits are good.
