It's a damn shame that until government actions really directly affect some folks they won't change the way they vote. Many of the people affected don't even vote at all and that just compounds the problem. We're in trouble now and I don't know if we will ever have our independence back.

I hope you guys realize these kind of issues aren't pushed by what they seem. Someone makes money off these kinds of deals. I'd bet remote generators and share holders have something to do with this. Just my 2 cents. The government is beyond corrupt and after the bailout this should have hit everyone like a 10 ton brick.

Another stupid law that just went into effect. The no lead in childrens toys. Seems harmless enough till you see that includes all toys. Including atv's and dirtbikes for any one under 16 years old! I don't think an 8 year old will be chewing on battery posts on miini atv's!

I wish government would disapear some days!

wow - that's awesome; it'll save 1 billion gallons of diesel fuel for the year!!!!!

wait, how much is that in comparison???

well, according to dep't of energy, 3.1 million barrels of fuel oil (no. 1, 2, & 4) were refined each day in Nov '08.

1 barrel = 42 gallons

that's about 130.2 million gallons of fuel refined each day.

it would take 7.6 days to make a billion gallons.

so this law saves about a week's worth of fuel over the course of a year....

woopty-crap.

but at least all the elderly people and young children that, apparently hang out around truck exhaust, are now that much safer.

When a driver is fatigued he won't stop and park. Now what's that going to do for highway safety?
