A bunch of us Turbo Diesel Brigadiers are supposed to be heading down that way. Since it's only about 80 miles from here, I have absolutely no excuse not to attend. Now if I can only remember to wake up Saturday morning and go.

I was hoping to, but I have drill this weekend and am not going to make it...unless I can find a way to get out of drill. If they have a good turn out they are gonna have another pull in July so I will be at it for sure.

I talked to these people last year about having truck pulls but they said they wouldn't do it. They didn't advertise it enough, only put one add in the trade times and handed out a few flyers. I told them they need to advertise more before the next one if they want to have a good turn out.

SWVA, generally. Call it a 150 mile radius around Roanoke.

Oops; I forgot this thread. It was a good day. Around 16 diesel trucks showed to pull. After the trucks finished their pull, Mountain Empire Garden and Antique Tractor Club decided to include them in their pull on 7/15.

I didn't realize garden and antique tractors are so sllllllloooooooooooooooowwwwwwww. I think some of the kids *pedalled* faster. And, as seems usual, the stands filled when the diesel trucks ran, and emptied when the trucks were done. At least *one* retiree attended to see if anyone could tell him why his '06 6.0 eats turbos.

If the pullers in this area are consistent and persistent, we should have a real series down here in a year or two.

It would be nice if the people would advertise more. They told me that they only ran the add in 1 paper last time and didn't hand out many flyers.

I dont see any local trucks that I recognize and the people that I have talked to nobody even knew about it.

Who ended up winning this thing and do they do a payout to the winner or is it just and pull for fun thing???
