Pulling 05 F250 Powerstroke/Torqueshift

I am not new to the forums but I am new to posting. I need a little help. I have a 2005 Ford F250 S/C 4x4 Powerstroke with a Torqueshift automatic. What gear are you guys pulling in. I have been pulling in 1st gear in high range and was wondering what everyone else in doing. The truck seems to have good power but seems to not have enough track speed to carry us at the finish line I am assuming. More momentum at the late end of the track would give use the extra few feet needed to finish respectable. Also what gears are people using? 3.73's, 4.10's ect. any help would be appreciated.

well if you have a auto trans you probably be best off with the 4.10's

auto trans or manny trans the 4:10's would be better then 3:73s because ur going to get alota low end grunt and keep you pulling as far as what gear.. not sure i dont pull for fear of droppin a trans outa my DD so hopefully some1 else could help you... but if i were to guess id say 2nd so it would shift and u can get ur wheel speed up but i have no idea... theres enough pullers on here that can prolly help you out

i suggest you put your truck in low range, and keep 5th gear locked out. i am not sure how the fords do this. i would assume a od lock out button. and just let the tranny shift up to the next gear it can carry.

97 3500 4x4 cummins 6 speed southbend dual disk, over 500rwhp. 2001 gmc sierra 2500 dura/alli 4x4 4 door,100hp dumaximizer. and project 11:30 98 12v reg cab, auto, short bed, hx40/16 on top, bht3be on bottom riding on a set of 20's and driving back and forth to work everyday at 500 plus rwhp. and a 00 4x4 crew cab stroke, heck it might get a cummins.

If you are running in 4 low, the tow/haul button will do nothing. It only engages on the high side. Try pulling with the tranny locked in third with a boosted launch or stick her in drive and let her shift.

last year with stock injectors and turbo i just put it in drive and it would shift up to 3rd and do great, but now i am making more power it is wanting to get into 5th and bog bad at the end, were going to tune it to old 4th to like 4600rpm in a sledpulling file, but for what you have done i would go 4lo drive, boost a lil and give it hell, worked great for me many times
