You pullin' down there or headed somewhere else? A lot of guys that I have read about don't seem to think stock or near stock trucks could get off the line with 3rd. They said 2nd would be better. Then again I just pull a gasser with an auto so I may not be the best help. Good luck.

3rd 4low may work for you. Try it and if it doesn't feel right shut it down in the designated area, go back and try a different gear. I would suggest 2nd 4low with a stock clutch, if you are just trying to get your first pull under your belt. You won't go very fast but you have a lot better chance of keeping your stock clutch intact.
I could show you what some power and 3rd 4low does to a stock clutch. The truck doesn't smell very good on the way home either.

If you don't like to see a stock clutch white smoking and no tire movement at all, then I would pull in low 2nd. You can almost bet that your going to be really hard on the clutch with a 3rd gear pull.
