First Timer, Got Questions

Going to give it a try. There is a local pull coming up in September. I need to know a few things.

How strong does the hitch have to be? I see the ring I need, but what about the base to attach it too.

Is there a height the hitch needs to be or just as high as possible?

If I start out in low, either drive or 2nd seem to be my two choices. But do I build boost and if so, how much?

Do I lock the front hubs or leave them in auto?

Any other pointers would be helpful. Thanks.
