First time with truck at pulls???

My friend has a 7.3 F250 reg. cab long box, no lift stock wheels with pro comp 305 75 R16 A/T's has an Edge programmer set on extreme and a Magnaflow 3" 1/2" down pipe 4" inch straight exhaust no muffler.... wants to pull with it this coming weekend need to know what to do besides add 1000lbs to the front end!... what gear should he pull in, should we strape the front shock what air pressure to run things like that..... any imput would be great! thanks :shrug:

For a 1st timer just get in and hammer down.As for gears if he is auto put it 4X4 low of course and set drive with OD off.You can also try straight 2nd in the auto and TC lockup switch.If it is a hand shaker might just go 2nd and roll into it.Do not get into it hard till the clutch grabs.All I could give you I don't do pulls for a livin.

If it is an auto trans I suggest putting it in 4-low 2nd gear. Max out the rear tire pressure and drop the front down to 30psi. Easy into the pedal in the beginning to get the sled moving and then give it h*ll! I finished 3rd place in a truck pull Tuesday using 2nd gear low. But tell him to be careful, pulling is very addicting

Thanks guys yah its an auto we were thinkin 2nd gear and he knows the ropes of pullin just first time with this truck thats all thanks again!
