Air Intake for Spartan 250 ?

I'm shopping around for a DPF/CAT delete pipe & Spartan tuner for my mechanically challenged friend.

I've had one dealer tell me that the stock air intake will not flow enough air with the 250 tune. I've been running the 250 tune now for 6 months with the stock air intake with no issues, but then again I use my truck for towing, not racing.

Am I missing performance and/or fuel economy by using the stock air cleaner?

Is there a big advantage to making the change?

Should I change the intake when I do the delete on my buddy's truck?

The filter minder gets sucked in with the stock filter. You can do a drop in filter and be fine, or a full intake for optimum performance. I suggest AFE drop in filters and intakes.
