Rudy's sells the BD Performance BOV kit. I don't think they are necessary (experience says so for me), but others say they are.......I think the cool factor makes them worth it for most. If I do aftermarket turbo's I will probably add one to the truck, but until then I don't have use for one.

BOVs Are Fun

The BOV is open to debate weather it is a necessity or novelty. Jeff from Spartan has indicated that there is no real need for the BOV since his turbos have survived 70,000 or so hard miles without one and are fine. I don't believe there is a documented case of turbos in a 6.4 going south from not having a BOV. I enjoy having the BOV since the sound produced when letting out of the throttle at about 48-50 psi will pretty much send the Mitsubishi or Subaru you just dusted right into the ****weeds. In my case it is 75% novelty and 25% necessity, but only time will tell in both figures.

I just copied my response from another forum. Sorry for any redundancies.

These turbo's are ridiculously stout guys. Even with the amount of nitrous some of these guys throw at them, they are still holding up nicely. The BOV is really just a perk to have if you can afford it.
