Turbo Diesel Lifesaver

Has anyone put one of these on our trucks? If so how do you like it?

I am new to diesel and turbochargers how do you get your turbo hot enough that it hurts it when turning off the engine? Does just normal driving do this?

Any thoughts on the letting the chip turn off your truck? If it lets the truck idle longer than 10-15 mins then you get other issues correct?

nope not really. Hauling stuff from lowes that fits in the bed but even then not really that heavy. I imagine i do not need this but was just curious how easy it is to get the temps where you would need one.

If you pull heavy loads then a 3 min idle before shutting down will keep the turbo healthy. Normal driving will not require a cool down.

I love mine, use it every day all the time. Here's an example..... It's 95 out side and you need to run into the grocery store to grab something on your way home but you dont want to turn the A/C off because you will want your truck nice and cool when you come out, well with the turbo lifesaver you can set it for how long you want it to run, turn the key to the off positon, remove it and walk away, now you can go inside do what you gotta do and come back out to nice cool truck. Also if someone try's to steal it while it's running with the key out it will shut off and the wont be able to restart it since you have the key.

Mine is part of the alarm system. It is an Audiovox Prestige, 2-way remote start. When I stop, I apply the emergency brake, and the truck will idle for 3 minutes. I can activate the the remote start with the engine running, and turn off the key, exit the truck, lock the doors, and the truck will idle for 20 minutes. Usually I am back in it before the 20 minutes. We travel with 2 small dogs, and if it is hot, we let the truck a/c keep them cool.
