Extremly simple all you do is plug it into your obd2 port and then your gonna navigate to tuning and once you choose your tune that you wish to load lets just say the 250 tune, so the dd will then give you some commands and then it will begin to save your stock tune, and will load the 250 should take 30-45 mins for the first time, and while the dd is doing that your gonna be underneath working on the exhaust, easy as pie. Give me a call if you got more questions. 256-684-4545

Your best bet is to plug in the Dash Daq to your computer, use the CD to learn it in and out and register your vehicle and VIN with Spartan. You will need to contact them for a USER name and temp password to set up the account unless the distributor set it with the unit. This is necessary to get you VIN loaded so you can reflash your PCM with the stock tune if something happens to your dash Daq. It is also necessary to unlock the tunes above 250 DPF delete, and EGR delete tunes.

However you can plug in the Dash Daq to your OBDII port for quick start and follow the screen prompts. To load the tune you select that option and load tunes. Again screen prompts are your friend and when you upload the stock tune to the DashDaq for the first time it says 32 minutes mine took almost 90 minutes, so heed the disclaimer to charge your truck while tuning. Subsequent times are significantly shorter, it only takes 10 minutes to go between 210 tow and 250.

The exhaust is the worst part and depending on your kit, probably came with no directions.

The one important note is that the DPF/DOC can be removed by unbolting the hangers rather than trying to slip the hanger hooks out the bushings. That is of course assuming you purchased a DPF/DOC delete pipe, if you purchased the DPF only you will have to unbolt it from the DOC and that may take a bit of penetrating oil. The one piece DPF/DOC pipe from Rudy's utilizes no hangers.

Remember that the DPF is a heavy monster!!!

Good luck

Remember to tune your truck prior to removing DPF componenets!

ohh and another quick question. I have been reading a little on spartan's website and i stumbled acrosed a thread that said the shifting when tuned was absolutely terrible. Is this true at all? I plan to run the 310 tune daily but i am hardly ever on the truck to hard

Some people just don't like or understand the need for added line pressure on a stock transmission with a 300+ horsepower tune meant for racing. I would recommend looking in to the 300 tune when it is available. Unless they just haven't told me yet, the 300 isn't quite available but will be VERY soon.

5" from where? As far as I know Rudy's via powerstroker67 only offers a 4" DOC/DPF, but I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure a 5" downpipe is impossible without cab modification.

To answer your question you need to register to unlock higher tunes if not pre-unlocked as well as recover your stock tune in the event of DashDaq failure.

At least that was what I was told, things always change.
