fooling a dyno

i was just curiouse if i were to dyno my truck with 285 tires on my truck it should throw a diffrent number if i was running a 305 tire shouldn't it? so if this is the case which number should i belive or does this even matter on a load dyno, or a chassie dyno? just asking questions. i am wanting to dyno my truck soon just so i have an idea on were i stand.

It will make very little difference. A dyno can not be fooled. The only difference would be the extra drag from larger tires, they could loose a few HP. A loaded dyno will throw lower HP#'s a dyno jet will read a lil higher.

On a diesel you do better with tall gears to get the full potential out of your turbo. If you run 4-10 gears I'd dyno in OD, I seen up to 25HP gains from that.
