Resetting the APPS/TPS

Try this:

Disconnect both Negative battery cables, leave them off for a minimum of 4 hours. I usually like to leave it like this overnite.

After the time has passed, reconnect both negative cables,
Go inside truck and insert key into ignition switch move key forward ONE CLICK! NOT TO START. Then return key back to off.

Do this 3 times, forward-and back with key, and on the 3rd time forward with key take your throttle foot and ever so slowly depress throttle pedal down all the way to the floor(SLOWLY) and bring pedal back up -SLOWLY!
By doing this the APPS/TPS finds itself turn key off and start truck up. Your APPS/TPS should have found itself and you should be good to go.:HappyMugs

 What way are you referring to? I thought this was the only way? There's another way? The only possible other way i could see is by a reflash at dealer by which you'd have to pay for that service if your out of warranty...this way is free.:

It is the same, other then I was told to leave the key on after the batteries are disconnected to let any remaining power in the system drain. Other then that it is exactly the same. Thanks again for the info:Thumbup: . See ya:

How does this work?!?!?!??!
I just did it, and now my tranny shifts better, all gears.
I was having a problem with 1st and 2nd going out every once in a while.
And it appears that this solved the problem.

I'm happy, but really confused.

You can disconnect both batteries and ground the two cables together. Grounding pos to neg should discharge anything in about 30 seconds, no need to wait.
