Relocate Silencer Ring...

1. Take intake tube off of turbo

2. Remove Black ring in front of sliencer ring (use screwdriver to pry out)

3.Toss silencer ring in glovebox and enjoy the beautiful sounds!!!!!

Actually just reinstalled mine - did not like the whine when pulling the TT up a grade for long hours. Wasn't bad with the stock air box but since going to a open element (BHAF) the noise was getting to me - does that mean I'm getting old... lord I hope not...

From what I am reading there is little to no performance gain by doing this... I would agree with argve... Quiet is twice as nice....

I'm actually thinking of putting mine back in too. Yeah, it's nice being able to mat the go-pedal and have big trucks make comments on the CB, but, it does get loud when you have a 40' behemoth trailer behind you.

If I removed mine I don't think the wife would ever ride in it again. With the aFe on it the inside noise is already to loud for her. She said that she likes the new ones because they are so quiet. Plus there is no extra ponies just more noise.

If you have the stock airbox pull the rubber boot out that connects it and the fenderwell, toss over shoulder.

Remove stock airbox (remove intake hose from box to turbo, grasp airbox and yank upwards) take the top off and the filter out and get stupid with a 2' or 3' holesaw. Leave enough material to reinstall it with the factory rubber nuts and put it back in the truck. You now have a swiss cheesed airbox
