Here is a sort helpful tech on Dv's.. There not that hard to do..your going to need.
1- Dv socket/ half inch ratchet
2- A hammer
3- A magnet or needle nose pliers
4- 19mm or 3/4 in open end wrench
5- 11mm deep socket
6-10mm socket (doesnt matter deep or short)
Ok step one get all your stuff together ( beer, dip, cigs,soda, what ever) take off the intake horn (5 10mm bolts) and the 10mm bolt that holds the oil dip stick tube on ( be careful not to ruin the gasket o the intake horn )
Next get the 11mm deep and take off one of the clamps on the intake horn..and the remove the rubber boot. Take the 10mm socket and take off the grid heater nuts. ( dont drop them in the intake shelf!!!!)
Almost there..! there are 2 clamps holding the fuel lines to the intake shelf (10mm) take them off.. Now grab the 19mm open end wrench and crack all the lines loose.. on the injector pump and on the injectors.. Once the nuts are loose slid them up and remove the fuel lines in two groups of 3 lines
Put little red caps on the injectors and on top ofthe DV's ( i didt as you can see) If you dont have any get a Q-tip and suave the Dv do no dirt gets in the pump.
Next get the Dv socket (snap on part num 503) loose them up..(There on there pretty good thats why I said get a hammer to crack them loose.) and start taking them out slowly dont loose the spring and shim that goes ontop of the button. Take the magnet and pull the Dv button and shoulder out in one hole peice. Now that the Dv is out of the pump get a dental pick and pull out the washer on the bottom (its not used anymore)
look at the New DV thats going n the pump make sure its clean before you put it in the pump.! Drop the new Dv in the pump just like it came out.. (minus the washer) Grab the shim and spring an put the spring right on the center of the button. Then slowly screw the top back on ( dont cross thread it) And just repeat 5 more times.
after all 6 Dv' are installed.. Put the fuel lines on. Do the back ones 1st then do the front 3 (its easier)
* screw the nuts on top of the injectors and Dv's and tighen them down
* put the 10mm bolt back ( that holds the fuel lines to the intake shelf)
* leave #1 Dv line cracked
* prime the lift pump
* crank until you see fuel comming out ofthe injector line, get out and tighen up the fuel line. prime the pump 2-4 more times and crank it ( dot cran for no longer then 30 sec' at a time)
Run it for bit check for leaks if its not leaking go out and enjoy the smoke and power..
