I love the straight pipe sound, but the drone towing sucks! Here's my fix.

My truck sounds exactly as it did when it was straight piped, just no drone.

The outer case is 6" aluminized exhaust tubing, the inner core is 37 percent open area 4" perforated, the end caps are 3/16" thick steel and I cut them out with my plasma cutter.

I welded it together with my 220 mig using argon/c02. As you can see, excellent penetration.

This thing is massive! With only one inch of packing around the core there isn't much sound reduction, but all of the drone is gone!

The ends are swedged open so it can simply slip onto my existing exhaust system. The entire muffler is about 15"

I've heard that it's the last section of tubing that resonates causing the drone so I put the muffler as far back as possible. I wanted some tubing after the muffler to make sure that I get the scavenging that I needed.

Sorry General Motors, I stole your exit location, HAHAHA

I didn't run a tip, I'm not looking for bling, just clean and simple. This is just my tow truck/ daily driver so no need for anything fancy.

Hey, thanks! This is a must have if you have a Cummins with 4" exhaust. I straight piped the PSD I had a few years ago and it sounded mean with no drone, but it was 3 or 3.5 inch, not 4 inch. This Dodge had so much drone! But it's completely gone now.

very nice. i am just about done making a muffler myself. i went with a custom chambered/delta design. i know its going to rob me of power but i only made it to quiet the stack down for long trips.
