American Made or Assembled

I bought a 5303 JD a few years back. I ASSumed since it was a JD, as if it was NH, MF, Case it was American made. Not long after I bought it I was checking the air pressure on my tires. Goodyears on the front that said MADE IN INDIA. No psi, kph. Lucky My air gauge had it on the backside. Took a look at the VIN tag on the frame behind the left tire, ASSEMBLED IN INDIA. I said to myself . Does anyone know if theres a Tractor made and assembled in USA.

Deere has plants all over the world. IIRC, there are building a $100 million plant in China, and something like a $50-75million plant in Korea (or something) now.

Their Waterloo, IA tractor plant is still running full tilt. Our big tractors came out of that plant.

A lot of the smaller (or more simplified equipment) is build overseas or another short line company builds them. The old 850 tractors from the early '80's are basically rebadged Yanmar tractors. Nice ones to boot.

Have seen castings on our Deere combines with stuff made in Mexico, Spain,.............

Gone are the days of nearly everything being 100% American made (including every single part or component).

Deere only produces tractors 100hp or over in the US, or at least that was how it was.

Honestly I thought the Deere tractors over 45 HP were US built, apparently I was WRONG.

Well, I walked across the road this morn to the JD dealer to check out the tractors on the lot to find out where they were built, or assembled.

5045 45hp - India
5055 55hp - India
25075E 75hp - India
6330 85 hp - Germany
6115D 115 hp - Mexico

5093E 93hp
5095M 95hp
5101E 101hp

Were all built and assembled in Moline.
JD Hay Rollers - built and assembled in Moline

Could not find a tag on the disc mowers and didnt look at the Frontier attachments.

AGCO has a huge plant in Georgia producing a great deal of the Massey and Challenger tractors in the USA. They are building another plant as well, to keep up with demands. For those who don't know AGCO brands are Ferguson, Massey Ferguson, Challenger, AGCO - orange tractors, Fendt, Valtra, White, Oliver, Allis Chalmers, Gleaner, Minneapolis Moline, Duetz, Duetz-Allis, Duetz-Fahr, AGCO -Allis and a large line of implements. New Idea and Sunflower being a couple of the bigger implement lines. They have as of middle of last year quit producing AGCO - orange tractors and focused all tractor sales on Challenger and Massey brand names. AGCO stands for Allis-Gleaner Company.

Now that I have bored you to death.
