Boom lift, Deutz, fuel problem

I'm new at this forum stuff and diesels. I am having fuel problems with my Duetz F3M 1011 F. I just got this JLG 450 AJ boom lift. It is 8 years old and ran good for about 3 hours. Now it started suddenly stalling when it feels like it. There is a switch that someone put in the control panel in the aerial basket that has something to do with the fuel. If the lift stalls, I have to leave the ignition on, cycle that added toggle switch(flip it one way then back) and I can hear a click. Then the lift will start again but stall out again 10-20 minutes later. Over and over. Any ideas out there. I'm baffled but need to start somewhere.

On the Hesston bailers they had a problem with the fuel shutoff solenoid. That is what it sounds like, the hold magnet not holding.

Thanks for your response Mr Fixer. I went out and started it the day after problem and there was no longer a problem. I ran it for several hours using it to trim trees and it ran fine. Water or air maybe, I don't know but I will keep that fuel shut off solenoid in mind. It is getting cold here now and I will be putting it down for the winter. That added switch that was put on it might go to that solenoid because I hear something click when I cycle it. I will need a helper to check that out in the spring if it happens again. Right now, all is well. Thanks again!
